Celebrating the Tuskegee Airmen - #SoaringToGreaterHeights

This year marks the 50th anniversary of The East Coast Chapter Tuskegee Airmen, Incorporated (ECCTAI), the oldest and largest chapter of the renowned Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. Over the next year, ECCTAI will be hosting a variety of events with the goal of preserving the legacy of the Airmen and raising funds for our signature programs.

Our 50th Anniversary Celebrations will commence with the 2023 Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day events. Annually we recognize the fourth Thursday of March with a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the U.S. Air Force Memorial, scheduled for March 23rd. We will also host “An Evening with the Tuskegee Airmen”, a fireside chat with the Airmen that will include a reception and silent auction, on March 29th.

The Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day committee is excited to share engagement updates and details on our upcoming 2023 Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day (TACD) events.

We also wanted to share some of our exciting developments...we have been working with Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester to lead the request for a national proclamation to be signed by President Biden and we are almost there! Additionally, on March 23rd Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton will be presenting a resolution on the floor of the U.S. Congress. The resolution designates March 23, 2023, as “Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day.”  This resolution recognizes and celebrates the Tuskegee Airmen for their heroism, valor and exemplary service to our nation.

One of our honorary chairs recently posted a sign "Celebrating Tuskegee Airmen Legacy #SoaringToGreaterHeights"   Take a look up the next time you are in Chinatown, located 7th Street NW between H and I Streets NW.

We invite you to attend our Wreath Laying Ceremony which honors our “Lonely Eagles” and our surviving Documented Original Tuskegee Airmen.
